  • In-District Transfers

    If you live within the South Central school district and wish to enroll a student during the school year, please follow the steps below:

    1. Contact the school your student(s) will be attending
    • School office personnel will help answer any questions and will schedule an in-person appointment for registration.
    • South Central Elementary School (Grades K-6): 219-767-2269
    • South Central Jr.-Sr. High School (Grades 7-12): 219-767-2266
    2. Bring the following documentation for registration:
    • State-issued Birth Certificate
    • Proof of Residency
    • Current Immunization Records
    • Guardianship Papers (if applicable)
    • Name of the Previous School
    • Transcript or Report Card from Previous School (recommended)
    3. Complete registration online using Harmony Family Access
    • School office personnel will help you set up a Harmony Family Access account to register your student(s).
  • Out-of-District Transfers

    South Central is now accepting student transfer applications for the 2024-2025 school year for families living outside of the district.
    Transfer requests for the 2025-2026 school year will open in March 2025.

    • March 13th - April 12th will be the initial window to accept out-of-district transfer students. South Central will take applications for all grade levels but will only accept new students in full grade levels if new openings occur.
    • New out-of-district families will be notified of enrollment decisions by May 10, 2024.
    • After April 12th, South Central will continue to accept students through October 1, 2024, if space is available.
    • Applications after October 1st will be recommended for the start of the second semester on January 6, 2025 (if space is available at the requested grade level).
    • Out-of-district students will be accepted into grade levels per the available openings in the table below.

    Please follow the steps below for enrolling a new student:

    1. Submit the student transfer application
    • Turn in the student transfer application to the school office. You may also upload the application to the building principals via the website contact pages:
    • Applications will be reviewed by the principals and/or the superintendent.
    2. Schedule a registration appointment
    • If accepted, families will be notified and may schedule a time with the office for registration to take place at the school.
