Hello, my name is Pat Werner. I am a special education teacher (grades 4-6) for South Central Elementary School. I graduated from Indiana University, where I received my Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Special Education. After graduating from college, I taught Special Education for the Porter County Schools for 6 years. I began teaching at South Central Elementary School in 1986. I am thrilled and proud to be a part of this very special school and community. Besides being a part of the South Central Community, my husband and our 2 sons graduated from South Central High School. A very special part of our family is our dog, Bailey. During my free time, I enjoy working the athletic events and Bailey loves attending them, too. My professional goals as a special education teacher are to create a caring classroom environment in which my students: 1) learn respect and responsibility, 2) learn to read and write independently, 3) learn to problem solve and explain how they solved the problem, 4) enjoy learning and 5) smile because they are proud of themselves and their accomplishments. I am so happy to be a South Central Satellite!
