    Dear Parents, Students, and Visitors:

Welcome to South Central Elementary School’s website! SCES serves approximately 500 students in Preschool through 6th grade. We are located in rural Union Mills, IN in south La Porte County. South Central is a tradition-rich school community committed to academic excellence that has served generation after generation of local families since the 1960s.

We are very proud to be a high-performing school in a high-performing school district. South Central Elementary School’s students and staff are dedicated and work extremely hard to ensure that learning is a top priority in our school on a daily basis. We provide students with a safe, nurturing, and respectful environment that allows them to achieve and grow to their greatest potentials. Through professional learning communities (PLCs), our highly-qualified teachers collaborate continuously to discuss academic progress, student learning, and staff development needs.

Parental involvement in a child’s education is very important to us at South Central. We strongly encourage parents to be our partners in education to empower students to be successful, lifelong learners. We welcome you to visit our school. Please contact the office if you wish to schedule a time. Also, feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

We look forward to partnering with you to help our students succeed!

    Nick Kimmel
    Principal
